HRT partners with YMCA to offer Student Freedom Passes

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — It’s an opportunity your teenager may not want to pass up.

Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) is partnering with the YMCA of South Hampton Roads to offer teens Student Freedom Passes to help them make the most of summertime.

The passes are for students 13 to 17-years-old, and provide free unlimited rides on HRT’s bus, ferry and light rail services in Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach.

“We’re proud of our partnerships with community organizations like the YMCA of South Hampton Roads who do so much to support our youth,” said William E. Harrell, President and CEO of HRT. “With the convenience and mobility of transit to complement the Y’s programs, sports and activities, this collaboration will help students stay active and engaged during the summer.”
