One stabbed in fight involving 100 people on Carson Beach in South Boston
One person was rushed to the hospital after a large fight involving around 100 people at Carson Beach in South Boston Friday night.
A man was rushed to a nearby hospital to be treated for his non-life-threatening stab wounds.
Officers from Boston and State Police could be seen searching the area around the popular Southie beach with canines around 9:00 p.m.
Day Boulevard was partially shut down while investigators responded.
“Boston Police assisted with crowd control. H Troop investigators and the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit are investigating,” an MSP spokesperson said.
Kristen Grastorf lives up the street.
“People love this beach, I love this beach,” said Grastorf.
She said she and her daughter went running towards the beach Friday night when they saw a bunch of rescue crews and part of Day Blvd. shut down. Investigators put up yellow police tape and used K-9′s to search the area.
“It’s scary because my daughter’s 15 and she wants to go out and I’m afraid to let her out we live right here,” said Grastorf.
“You know, I bike down here so I’m always cautious when I’m riding my bike, I can imagine what’s in store for Summer,” said Paul Jenner, South Boston, “It won’t concern me for coming down here, I wasn’t involved.
Meghan Varano lives nearby and said she left the beach right before the fight broke out.
“We were at the beach until 8 right before 8 last night so that’s kind of crazy right here,” said Varano, “I have so many questions like what ages and why.”
