Joplin online utility payment server unavailable Friday afternoon to Monday morning

JOPLIN, Mo. — The City of Joplin will temporarily be unable to accept online utility payments.

Beginning Friday at 4 p.m., June 21, the City’s computer system will undergo an upgrade, disabling online payments for the duration. Officials say it should be back up and running around 8 a.m. on Monday.

Customers attempting to pay online will receive a message saying the service is unavailable. This upgrade does not affect online payments to the municipal court, the City added.

The City’s Information Technology Department will complete the upgrade of the Finance Department’s payment software. In the meantime, other payment options including the drop box on the west side of City Hall, mailing to 602 S. Main, or paying in person at the Finance Department are still available to citizens.
