Kannapolis man wins $100k lottery jackpot

KANNAPOLIS, NC (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Kannapolis man won big on Sunday, the NC Education Lottery reports.

Carlos Sosa Rodriguez bought a $1 Cash 5 ticket from Han-Dee Hugo’s on South Cannon Boulevard in Kannapolis and won a $100,000 prize. The odds of winning are 1 in 962,598.

On Friday, Sosa Rodriguez went to the lottery headquarters in Raliegh to claim his prize, bringing home $71,502 after taxes.

Cash 5 is one of six lottery games in North Carolina that can be played in-store and online. Visit the NC Education Lottery’s website for more information.
