Kaweah Health hosts free CPR training event in Visalia

VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Kaweah Health hosted a free Hands-Only CPR training event on Tuesday in Visalia to teach community members about simple life-saving techniques.

Kaweah Health officials say that immediate CPR can greatly increase the survival rate of individuals experiencing cardiac arrest.

A nurse with Kaweah Health says they were in Downtown Visalia at Garden Street Plaza to inform the community just in case they encounter an emergency.

She says the first steps of CPR are important to know until help can arrive.

The family-friendly event was led by registered nurses. They provided instruction and practice in hands-on CPR for adults, infants, and children.

This year’s event also featured a Stop-The-Bleed demonstration showcasing how to apply a tourniquet if someone has a life-threatening bleed.

Kaweah Health officials said these techniques will help participants recognize and respond effectively in emergency situations and potentially save lives in Tulare County.
