Lancaster Police welcome new K9, Mizo

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) — The Lancaster City Police Department is celebrating a new member to their K9 police force.

On Monday, June 17, Lancaster City Police welcomed Mizo, a 14-month-old German Shepherd from the Czech Republic, to the force. Mizo is partnered with Officer J. Hatfield and will serve as a dual-purpose K-9, cross-trained in patrol and narcotics. Mizo is one of five K9s that graduated from the Iron Rose K9 Police Academy this year.

Mizo and Officer Hatfield will start their first shift together this evening. Lancaster Police say they are excited to watch the duo grow into a skilled and reliable team.
