Over 179,000 people have been affected by flooding in the surrounding Huangshan city, with over 10,000 residents evacuated from affected areas, according to a recent statement released by local authorities on social media. At least 55 houses have collapsed in the area.
Reuters was able to identify the location of the video from buildings, road layouts, trees, and mountains in the background match satellite imagery and file image. Corroborating videos show the same scene. Reuters was not able to confirm when the footage was filmed.
