All lanes of I-880 reopen after shooting investigation

(KRON) — All southbound lanes of Interstate 880 were blocked in Oakland due to police activity on Thursday afternoon. All lanes have since reopened.

California Highway Patrol confirmed that a shooting happened on Thursday. CHP shut down the highway to gather evidence and determined that the shooting happened on Oakland city streets.

The Oakland Police Department met with a gunshot wound victim. There is no update on their condition.

The police activity was in the area of Oak Street.
