Legacy Health reaches Regence Blue Cross deal

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Legacy Health reached an agreement to remain in-network with Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield.

This means Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield members will be able to use the Legacy Health facilities without disruption.

The deal was reached Sunday, just hours before Legacy’s current contract would have expired at midnight.

In a statement, Legacy Vice President Merrin Permut said they were very happy the deal was reached.

“We are so grateful to our patients and our communities for their patience and understanding while we worked with Regence on a new agreement,” Permut said. “I’m also deeply appreciative of the continued commitment our caregivers have demonstrated to support our patients throughout this situation.”

A spokesperson for Regence shared a similar statement saying that they are happy to continue working with Legacy to help patients and the community.

“We are pleased to share that Legacy Health has agreed to withdraw the termination of its contract and will remain in network for Regence commercial and Medicare Advantage members. We recognize the uncertainty these negotiations caused for some Regence members and appreciate their patience as we worked with Legacy leadership to achieve reimbursement rates that are more sustainable for our members and customers. We are grateful that our members should have no further disruption in care, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Legacy to ensure our members have access to an important care partner in our communities.”

Anyone with a scheduled appointment should keep that appointment. If a patient canceled over the uncertainty of the negotiations, contact Legacy to reschedule, officials said.
