Legacy Silverton adds 21,000 square feet in campus expansion project

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Legacy Health has completed the first phase of a $37 million expansion project for their Silverton Medical Center, adding 21,000 square feet to the existing hospital, the organization announced Thursday.

This completion includes an emergency department expansion from 12 to 20 updated patient rooms and is expected to be open for seeing patients on March 18.

Additionally, the emergency department will offer an expanded trauma treatment bay and more space to care for trauma and cardiac patients, as well as accommodations for women’s services.

Legacy Health and Silverton Hospital originally began plans for this expansion in 2016, pledging $58 million to focus on the key areas of physician recruitment, equipment upgrades and a new modernized medical facility.
