HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Andrea Lemmond resigned from her role as the UAH women’s basketball coach Friday morning, the school announced.

Lemmond joined the Chargers before the 2014-15 campaign after she was an assistant at Samford. She is the first UAH women’s basketball coach to reach 100 wins.

“We are grateful for Coach Lemmond’s contributions to UAH Women’s Basketball and to our athletic department,” UAH Director of Athletics Dr. Cade Smith said. “The assistant coaches and student athletes that she brought to UAH represented our institution in a first-class manner and that is a reflection of who she is as a person and a coach.”

Lemmond led the Chargers to five postseason appearances, including an NCAA South Regional berth in 2019-20.

School officials said they will begin a nationwide search for their next head coach.
