Logansport Police host Bicycle Rodeo Saturday at Muehlhausen Park
May 31—The Logansport Police Department will host its annual Bicycle Rodeo from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Muehlhausen Park.
The event includes a bicycle course, free hotdogs, soda, chips and popsicles, bicycle giveaways, free city pool pass and more. The LFD Smoke House will also be on hand. Sponsors include Walmart, Pizza Hut, K&K Towing, Woodbridge, Cass County Towing, Logansport Fire Department, Logansport Parks Department and Diversified General Federal Credit Union.
The day is set up by the LPD to teach children bike safety and build community.
Cpl. Tyler Miller said in 2023 that the goals of the Bicycle Rodeo was to have fun with the kids while teaching them bike safety such as obeying stop signs and looking both ways for traffic.
"This is a community wide thing," Miller said. "It means a lot that the whole community is involved and it just shows how much kids mean to this community."
