Loop Trolley training on University City routes starts today

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The Loop Trolley is poised to resume operations for its next season later this month, with training sessions for workers starting today. The initial training phase will run through April 12th. Additional training sessions are scheduled for April 18th, 19th, and 20th.

Bi-State Development reinstated the Loop Trolley in 2022, averting a potential default on federal transportation loans originally allocated to the project several years prior. Training will occur along the familiar 2.2-mile route spanning Delmar and DeBaliviere Avenue, connecting the University City Library to the History Museum in Forest Park.

The 2024 Loop Trolley season will officially launch on April 25th, operating from Thursdays through Sundays, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The service remains free of charge, operating on a first-come, first-served basis until concluding on October 27th. In cases of inclement weather, temporary suspensions of trolley operations may occur.

Parking on the trolley rails is strictly prohibited. Vehicles must be entirely within the designated white parking lanes to avoid fines or towing. Additionally, pedestrians and motorists are advised against standing, walking, or driving on the white diagonal striping aligning the trolley route.
