LPD charges man after allegedly violating protective order, attacking woman with knife

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Police in Lynchburg took a man into custody after he allegedly attacked a woman with a knife early Monday morning.

On June 10 just after 2 a.m., Lynchburg officers responded to a burglary in the 1300 block of Fort Manor Drive. When officers arrived, they allegedly found 30-year-old Shaquielle O’Neil Booker, from Lynchburg, attacking a woman with a knife.

Officers were able to get the Booker to surrender the knife and he was taken into custody.

Police confirmed the woman is receiving medical care and is in stable condition.

Booker was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Malicious Wounding

  • Breaking and Entering

  • Violation of a Protective Order

  • Commit Assault & Battery upon a person protected by a Protective Order

He is currently being held without bond at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.
