Married at First Sight star Mel Schilling has responded to rumours she could take to the dance floor in a future season of Strictly Come Dancing.

Schilling appeared on Lorraine today (June 18), where host Lorraine Kelly quizzed her about a possible appearance on the dancing competition.

"So I understand that you're sort of gearing yourself up for maybe Strictly Come Dancing? That is something that you would like to do?" the presenter asked.

The MAFS Australia relationship expert laughed and joked: "Is that a nasty little rumour, Lorraine?" before adding: "Let's manifest this. Oh, my gosh!"

Kelly then showed her a mocked-up photo of Mel with Strictly pro dancer Johannes Radebe and said: "And of all the folks you could dance with, he's an angel."

"I'm so ready for you, Johannes," Schilling laughed, adding: "That's my destiny."

On Lorraine, Schilling also looked back at her reaction to the colon cancer diagnosis she received at the end of last year.

"Everyone has a different reaction to those three little words, 'You have cancer'," she recalled.

"My hubby Gareth and I were sitting there with the doctor, and I quite irrationally just went straight into work mode and I got out my diary and I went, 'No, I can't have surgery, I'm working then,' as if it was the most normal thing in the world.

"I sort of went into what I can control. Whereas Gareth had a very real emotional reaction, and so he was quite ahead of me in terms of dealing with it."

Schilling had surgery during the Christmas period in 2023, and recently shared an update on her chemotherapy treatment.

Lorraine airs on weekday mornings from 9am on ITV.

Strictly Come Dancing will return later this year on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
