Man accused of attempted second-degree murder after Baton Rouge shooting
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Police Department has arrested a man in connection to a shooting that happened on Feb. 26.
Police accused Hubert Jackson of attempted second-degree murder. An investigation identified him and members of a group known as the “Bleedas.” Police said the “Bleedas” is a violent group.
Police said they got search warrants for addresses known as hangouts for the group. Several members were linked to ATM robberies. The robberies happened in December 2023 and January 2024, police said.
Detectives also obtained footage of some members getting into a Chevrolet that was used during the shooting. BRPD said they used additional evidence that identified Jackson, Quendez Vancourt, Tremayne Lindsey and Brandon Fleming allegedly on the scene at the time of the shooting.
Police said they found suspected marijuana and codeine during a search warrant. They also found a SAR 9 mm and MDMA pills.
