Man allegedly flees officers during traffic stop

HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say a man is in custody for fleeing officers during a traffic stop.

According to the Hazleton City Police Department, on June 8 around 4:00 a.m., officers ran the license plate of a vehicle on Wyoming Street and Main Street. No record of the car was returned, prompting them to initiate a traffic stop, police say.

Officers state they activated their lights and sirens before 18-year-old Eudy Torres began to flee from officers on Wyoming Street, then onto Juniper, north onto Church Street, and west onto Broad Street before entering State Route 924.
