Man arrested in fatal shooting of wife in Hesperia

A Hesperia man is accused of fatally shooting his wife this week, authorities said.

Ethan Jared Biroczky, 34, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of 34-year-old Ashlee Bogdanoff, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department officials and booking records.

Biroczky called the sheriff's department about 6 p.m. Wednesday and reported that his wife was injured inside of a vehicle in the area of Summit Valley and Foley roads, in an unincorporated county area just outside of Hesperia, according to a sheriff's department statement.

Responding deputies found that Bogdanoff had been shot, officials said. She was taken to a hospital for treatment, but died from her injuries.

Sheriff's homicide detectives took charge of case.

"Their investigation determined Biroczky was responsible for Bogdanoff’s death," according to the statement.

He was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Thursday, county booking records show. Biroczky was being held without bail and scheduled to make an initial court appearance Monday in the Victorville branch of San Bernardino County Superior Court.

No further details were released.
