Man beaten to death after fight with woman in Austin neighborhood

CHICAGO —A man is dead after being beaten to death following a fight between him and a woman in the city’s Austin neighborhood, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Police said a 46-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were in a physical altercation in the 5400 block of West Congress Parkway around 10:45 p.m. Friday night, when two unidentified males approached and physically battered the 46-year-old man before fleeing on foot.

The 46-year-old man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The 39-year-old woman suffered bruising to the face and was taken to Rush Hospital, where she is listed in good condition.

There is no one in custody and Area Four Detectives are investigating.
