Man charged with murder following Pembroke Township shooting

KANKAKEE COUNTY, Ill. — A man was charged with murder following a shooting Sunday night in Kankakee County.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the area of 15400 E. 4500S Rd. in Pembroke Township just after 10:20 p.m.

Authorities located a gunshot victim, determined to be Derrick Dansby-Draine, of Pembroke Township. He was unresponsive and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Willie Felton Sr., 54, of Pembroke Township, was taken into custody just before noon in the 12000 block of East Russell Street.

Felton Sr. has been charged with murder, felon possession/use of a firearm and controlled substance trafficking.
