Man charged with vandalism at state Capitol

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 20-year-old man was taken into custody Wednesday after he reportedly vandalized the state Capitol building.

Dreykar McClain, 20, was charged with vandalism after police connected him to surveillance video of damage done at the Capitol, according to the arrest report.

Homicide investigation underway in Hickman County

The incident happened on Friday, May 10 but police wouldn’t make contact with McClain until Wednesday, May 15, according to the arrest report.

McClain is accused of slashing multiple tires and damaging several historic planters and an entrance door.

Damages are expected to cost more than $2,500 to repair or replace.

McClain was booked into the Metro jail and charged with felony vandalism. His bond was set at $21,000.
