Man fatally shot inside South Side home identified

CHICAGO — Authorities have identified a man who was fatally shot while inside his home on the city’s South Side on Friday afternoon.

According to Chicago police, the deadly shooting unfolded just after 4:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of West 85th Street.

Authorities say the victim, a 54-year-old man, was inside his home when he was hit in the chest by gunfire. He was later pronounced dead on the scene.

On Saturday afternoon, the Cook County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Cozenn Johnson and said he died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Currently, it is unclear what led to the shooting and police say no arrests have been made.

Officers say an investigation into the shooting continues.
