Man gets 202 years to life plus 110 years for robbery spree

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — When it came to robbing gas stations, Cerwilliam Pryor had his method down pat.

He’d enter the business and pretend to shop, waiting for other customers to leave.

Once alone with the cashier, he’d pull a gun and order them to empty the register.

But authorities eventually caught up to him, and at his sentencing Tuesday it became clear he’ll never have another opportunity to enter a gas station — or any business, for that matter — for the rest of his life.

Judge John R. Brownlee sentenced Pryor to 202 years to life in prison, plus 110 years.

Pryor, 33, showed little reaction as Brownlee sentenced him for each of the 15 counts — including seven counts of robbery — of which a jury convicted him last month.

Between Nov. 21 and Dec. 27, 2021, Pryor robbed multiple gas stations in six separate incidents, prosecutors say. He left fingerprint evidence at multiple crimes scenes. Additionally, his cellphone was placed in the area of five of the robberies at the time they occurred.
