Man killed, 5-year-old girl injured in shooting at Oxon Hill high school football event Saturday

A man was killed and a 5-year-old girl was injured Saturday morning at Potomac High School in Oxon Hill.

At about 11:20 a.m., officers responded to a football event at the high school on Boydell Avenue for the reports of a shooting and found 33-year-old Christopher Mozee, of District Heights, in the bleachers with gunshot wounds, said Prince George’s Police Department in a news release Monday morning.

Mozee was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly after, while the girl suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are searching for suspects, but it is believed the shooting stemmed from an argument among spectators at the event, according to the release.

The police department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact detectives at 301-516-2512.
