Man stabbed at Smith Springs Road gas station; police seeking suspect

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities are trying to track down a man accused of stabbing another man at a gas station in Nashville’s Priest Lake area Thursday evening.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the incident happened while a 29-year-old man was getting gas at the Exxon in the 2600 block of Smith Springs Road, by the Bell Road intersection, around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 20.

Officials said the suspect arrived on foot from the nearby wood line as the victim pulled into the parking lot. The suspect reportedly lingered by the front of the business for a few seconds before walking toward the victim.

When the victim realized what was happening, he fought off the suspect and ran inside the convenience store for help, but by the time officers arrived, the suspect — described by authorities as a young man wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and dark — had fled the scene and ran back into the wood line.

Police reported the victim was stabbed in the head and neck area “for no apparent reason,” leaving him with serious but non-life-threatening lacerations. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
