Man suffers life-changing injuries in Cornwall crash

A motorcyclist has suffered what is believed to be "life-changing" injuries after a crash in Cornwall, police have said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said they were called at about 13:20 BST on Friday to a collision between a blue Ford Transit van and a black Honda motorcycle on the A3059 near St Columb Major.

The motorcycle rider, a 67-year-old local man, was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

Officers attended the incident and carried out a detailed investigation of the scene at the junction of St Columb Industrial Estate.

South Western Ambulance Service said it was called at about 13:12 BST.

"We sent one double-crewed land ambulance and an air ambulance to the scene and conveyed one patient by air ambulance to Derriford Hospital," it said.

Officers from Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team attended the incident and carried out a detailed investigation of the scene.
