Man, woman hospitalized after knife fight in Milwaukie

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man and a woman were hospitalized after allegedly getting into a fight involving a knife Friday morning, authorities say.

Just after 6 a.m., Milwaukie Police officers were called to the 11900 block of Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard for a report that an injured man had asked a passerby to call him an ambulance.

On arrival, officers found the man with a cut on his arm, later learning he and a woman were in an altercation involving a knife at a homeless camp in the area.

Officers then found the woman nearby and both were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, authorities say.

Once the man was released, officials say he was taken into custody at the Clackamas County Jail on an unrelated warrant.

The incident is still under investigation. However, police say they believe the man and the woman knew each other, were the only two involved and there is no danger to the public.
