Marion County man faces murder charge in shooting of Dillon woman

DILLON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A Sellers man arrested last week in connection with a shooting had his charges upgraded to murder on Friday after a woman died from her injuries, authorities said.

Juna’ka Jon Jay Bethea, 23, is being held at the Dillon County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.

He was arrested just after midnight on Thursday in the Latta community. Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of Florence Avenue where 19-year-old Kaylin Nicole Hinson was found with multiple gunshot wounds.

She was airlifted to McLeod Florence and died on Friday, authorities said.
