Massillon 3-year-old dies after being found in home pool, drowning suspected

A 3-year-old boy was pronounced dead at Aultman Hospital in Canton after being found Sunday afternoon in a pool at a Massillon home, investigators said.A 911 call was placed at 12:57 p.m. after the child, Jamier Hudson, was found in the water, said Harry Campbell, chief investigator for the Stark County Coroner's Office.

Massillon police officers who responded found the child unresponsive.

"The officers provided life saving measures until the Massillon Fire Department arrived," the police department said.

The child was pronounced dead at 1:28 p.m.

Drowning is suspected, Campbell said.

The incident occurred at a home in the 600 block of Fries Street SE, Massillon.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office will perform an autopsy.

Massillon police said Monday that the investigation was ongoing.
