Midnight Diner to open 2nd Charlotte restaurant

Midnight Diner is doubling down on Charlotte with plans for a location in the University area.

Owner Brian Dominick says the popular eatery should open at 6538 N. Tryon St. in the fourth quarter. That site is located along the light-rail line.

Midnight Diner reopens in new location near Spectrum Center

“It just made sense,” Dominick says.

The project is nearly two-and-a-half years in the making. In November 2021, Dominick told the Charlotte Business Journal he planned to open a second Midnight Diner.

Meta starts testing user-created AI chatbots on Instagram
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Thursday that the company will begin to surface AI characters made by creators through Meta AI studio on Instagram. The social media company's announcement comes on the same day as a16z-backed chatbot company Character.ai is rolling out the ability for users to talk with AI avatars over a call. In a post on his broadcast channel, Zuckerberg noted that these chatbots will be clearly marked as AI to inform users.
