This Missouri interstate named third-best for truck drivers

ST. LOUIS – A new report names one Missouri interstate that runs through St. Louis and the Ozarks as the third-best in the nation for truck drivers.

A research team with transport company Trucker Path recently released rankings of the “best and worst interstate routes for truck drivers” in the United States.

The rankings were based on factors such as safety, parking availability, truck stop qualities, and fuel prices.

According to Trucker Path, the third-best U.S. interstate for truck drivers is none other than Interstate 44.

Rolling through three states (Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas), Interstate 44 stretches more than 600 miles. St. Louis is the easternmost endpoint. Wichita Falls in Texas is the westernmost endpoint.

Boil order for southwestern St. Louis County

I-44 runs through the City of St. Louis and 11 other counties in Missouri. Popular stops along the interstate include Sullivan, Rolla, Lebanon, Springfield, and Joplin.

Trucker Path gave I-44 a score of 92.72 out of a possible best of 100. The points are based on user ratings and reviews through the Trucker Path app, which gets more than input from around 20 million people each month.

“We hope this report is helpful for drivers when considering the loads they move and/or the lanes they want to run,” said Chris Oliver, chief marketing officer for Trucker Path via FleetOwner.com.

He continued, “Our primary mission at Trucker Path is to help make ‘a day in the life’ of every trucker a little easier and more comfortable while also giving them valuable tools to help them be safe and cost-efficient as a business.”

The only two interstates to finish ahead of I-44 in their scores were Interstate 90, which runs up north from the Seattle to Boston metros, and Interstate 5, which runs along the west coast from U.S. borders with Canada and Mexico.
