Mooresville Town Council approves controversial rezoning

LAKE NORMAN, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Mooresville Town Council members have approved a rezoning request for a controversial proposed development.

It will bring more than 600 units to the 52 acres of land along the narrow Alcove Road, which runs between I-77 near the Lake Norman Regional Center. Neighbors and town commissioners repeatedly raised concerns about traffic and the lack of retail and commercial space.

The 660 units are down by nearly 200 from the original proposal.
