Multiple Malco theaters targeted by car burglars; MPD searching for suspects

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are investigating vehicle break-ins outside two movie theaters just a day apart.

Investigators say three people in a black Nissan Altima broke into at least three cars at the Malco Paradiso on Mendenhall in East Memphis Wednesday night.

MPD released pictures of the suspects and their vehicle. One of the male suspects was seen wearing a ski mask.

The black Altima had a temporary tag, was missing top chrome trim, a rear passenger-side window, and had scuff marks on the front passenger fender.

Police are also looking for the individuals responsible for several auto break-ins at the Malco Powerhouse on S. Front Street downtown Thursday night.

They have not said if anything was taken from the vehicles that were vandalized at both locations.

WREG contacted Malco Friday afternoon to find out what the company was doing to secure its lots but has not heard back from anyone. The Malco theaters have mobile cameras on their lots.
