Navy Point boat ramp to close: Escambia County officials

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — Escambia County officials say boaters may need to change what ramp they will use next week as road work is set to commence.

According to a release, the Navy Point boat ramp, located at Sunset Avenue and Southeast Sycvle Drive, will close from April 1 through 5 for resurfacing and restripping.

RAMP CLOSURE LOCATION:

Vehicles and trailers that are left in the parking lot during the work period will be towed by the contractor, according to the release.

Instead of using the closed ramp, boaters are encouraged to use the Mahogany Mill boat ramp at 1251 Mahogany Mill Road or the Galvez boat ramp at 5889 Galvez Road while work is ongoing.

The ramp is expected to reopen on Saturday, April 6, but officials said the actual reopening will depend on weather conditions.
