St. Landry Parish ask for public’s help in locating missing livestock

PORT BARRE, La. (KLFY)– Some livestock went missing from the Port Barre area, and St. Landry Parish officials and the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry need the public’s help with finding them.

The St. Landry Parish Government were informed of the disappearance of livestock from Spillway Road south of the Port Barre area on Feb. 16.

The victim said he was working on the cattle last on the levee near the Bayou Portage bridge on Feb. 1 and noticed four black Brangus calves were gone, according to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said the calves are about 2 to 3 months old, weigh between 250 pounds to 300 pounds and have an incision to identify them in the left ear. The calves are valued at $2,400.
