Olive Garden to open location on West Side, state records indicate

Evansville's West Side will be adding an Italian chain restaurant.

Olive Garden, part of the Darden Restaurant Group, will move into the former O'Charley's building near the corner of Pearl Drive and Red Bank Road. The building sold to the Darden Restaurant Group for $2.2 million.

The new location will be Olive Garden's second in Evansville but there are several others located in the region, in Paducah and Owensboro, Kentucky, and Bloomington, Indiana.

While the sale of the building closed late last year, a timeline for when the restaurant will open has not been provided.

An application was submitted and registered with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security to start the process of opening the restaurant. Any commercial property in Indiana looking to do any renovations or construction on the building must register with the agency.
