NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans LaToya Cantrell is traveling to Canada to attend the Montréal Climate Summit with Montréal Mayor Valérie Plante

The purpose of the 2024 summit, according to Cantrell’s administration, is to discuss climate issues across North America and to recognize the need to share information that will propel climate transition for today and the future.

“When you hear the reports of how climate issues are impacting emergency weather conditions, it is vital to have a collective mission to proactively plan for climate issues because we are stronger together,” said Cantrell.

The summit’s theme is a call to action and the frontline approach to the annual conference, “Do More, do better. Faster.”
