Oxford police charge three with burglary

OXFORD – The Oxford Police Department have arrested three people in May in connection with two separate burglary cases.

Police responded May 15 to a disturbance in the 500 block of Clearbrook Drive on the west side of Oxford. The investigation led to the arrests of Sanyja Rooks, 22, and Kimberly Vaughn, 42, both of Memphis, Tennessee; each has been charged with burglary and malicious mischief.

During their initial appearances in Oxford Municipal Court, a judge set total bonds of $35,000 apiece. Both have since bonded out of jail.

Police were called to the Baptist Memorial Hospital on May 6 to take a report of an auto burglary. After a brief investigation, Quintez Dequan Hall, 19, of Sardis, was arrested June 6 and charged with commercial burglary-auto.

He was issued a $10,000 bond on the new charge. Since he was already free on a previous felony bond, that bond was revoked, and he remains incarcerated at the Lafayette County Detention Center.
