Pair charged in shooting death of Cicero liquor store clerk

CICERO, Ill. — Two Chicago men each face first-degree murder charges in connection with the shooting death of a liquor store clerk earlier this week.

Anthony J. Johnson Jr., 35, and Randell Brown, 31, are charged with shooting and killing Sebastian Rodriguez during a robbery of Licores El Potrillo in Cicero on Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities said Johnson Jr. was one of two people taken into custody just hours after the shooting following a brief vehicle pursuit that ended near South 95th and West Halsted streets in Chicago. Information about the second person was not released.
