Parasson's Italian Restaurant in Akron pushes back opening of its dining room by a week

Those hankering to sit down for a meal at Parasson's in Akron will have to wait a bit longer.

The Akron location on East Waterloo Road is delaying the reopening of its dining room until June 10, according to the restaurant's website.

Parasson's Italian Restaurant announced a couple months ago that it was closing its Barberton and Stow locations and focusing on a single Akron location.

The Parasson's in Akron's North Hill area on North Main Street closed in 2017.

It also announced that it was once again reopening its Akron dining room that has been closed for quite some time, as the restaurant that once had four locations offered just take-out service.

The Akron dining room was to open on Friday, but Tony Parasson, president and son of the late founder, announced that has been pushed back a week.

"We are spending over $125,000 on a brand new parking lot and lighting," he said. "We have encountered some delays and need additional time to complete the project."

The restaurant is also planning some renovation work on the exterior of the building too over the summer.

"We sincerely regret the postponement but we hope you understand," Parasson said. "We hope to see you soon."
