Pawnee man sentenced for murder of infant son

PAWNEE, Okla. (KFOR) — A Pawnee man will spend the rest of his life behind bars after being convicted of killing his infant son.

Colten Thompson was sentenced Friday for the murder of his two-month old baby.

Angela Boyett, Logan’s grandmother, says after two years, little Logan finally got some justice today, and the family can start moving forward.

“Neither side got what we wanted, but it was some kind of justice after over two years,” Boyett said.

June 14 is a day that will stick with Angela and her family forever. Colten Thompson was sentenced to life plus 10 years in prison for killing (his son) her two-month old grandson Logan.

Not a day goes by they don’t miss him.

“We have his pictures all over the house here,” Boyett said. “Going through the emotions of being angry, frustrated and feeling hopeless.”

Angela and the family are drained after seeking justice for two and a half years.

“I feel like some of the weight is lifted off,” Boyett said. “We don’t have to see his face ever again.”

While the family didn’t get the sentencing they wanted, they are content with the time Thompson will spend behind bars.

More importantly, they will continue to remember little Logan.

“This is from artful ashes,” Boyett said. “The white in it is Logan and then when we put a light through the bottom, it shines. He will continue to shine everyday.”

Thompson will serve two counts of life plus 10 years consecutively; he will be eligible for parole in about 50 years.
