Pedestrian critically injured in collision on South Brown Street: Bakersfield PD

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A pedestrian was severely injured after being struck by a vehicle Thursday night in southeast Bakersfield.

The Bakersfield Police Department said officers were called to the 200 block of South Brown Street just before 10 p.m. for a report of someone being struck by a car.

The pedestrian was found with major injuries. The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital and was in critical condition, police said in a release.

The driver who struck the pedestrian stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Officials said alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.
