Person who fled Danville homicide scene arrested in North Carolina

(KRON) – A suspect who fled a homicide scene in Danville has been arrested in North Carolina, according to the Danville Police Department.

Around 10:49 p.m. on Tuesday, Danville police officers responded to the Woodside Village apartment complex in the 1300 block of Piney Forest Road. Officers found 24-year-old Danville resident, Tasean Delvecchio Farmer, suffering from multiple gunshots inside an apartment.

Farmer was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

According to Danville PD, 32-year-old Danville resident Richard Lee Wilson fled the scene. Wilson has since been detained in North Carolina.

Wilson with multiple charges, including:

  • second-degree murder

  • possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

  • use of a firearm during the commission of a violent felony

  • reckless handling of a firearm

  • discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling
