Performing arts theater Players by the Sea in Jacksonville Beach and disability services agency Hope Haven in Jacksonville were among 160 nonprofits to receive funds from Memphis-based First Horizon Corp.'s 2024 Grants for Good campaign.

The bank's philanthropic arm, the First Horizon Foundation, awarded a total of $1.6 million — $10,000 each to 160 nonprofits in 12 states, including 25 in Florida.

The selected nonprofits make a "significant impact on the development, stability and vitality of their communities," according to the foundation.

Players by the Sea will use the grant to expand its musical theatre and acting education programs, while the Hope Haven grant will support autism and neuropsychology testing, Discovery School, Hope After School and Hope Academy, officials said.
