Police arrest suspect in MacDougal Circle homicide

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Lansing police have named a suspect in the fatal shooting of 35-year-old Thomas Blackmon last Saturday night, June 15.

Police have arrested Keijuan Eskin, 19, in Saginaw. Officials have arraigned him in Eaton County on charges of Open Murder and Felony Firearm. He has not been given bond.

At approximately 10:19 p.m. Saturday, LPD and Lansing Fire Department officials responded to reports of a shooting in the 4000 block of MacDougal Circle. Upon arrival, they found Blackmon with a gunshot wound.

Lansing fire officials gave medical assistance on-site and took Blackmon to a local hospital, where he was later declared dead.

The early investigation shows that Thomas and Eskin were together at Thomas’ home earlier on Saturday night, LPD officials said. Reports say Eskin went outside and came back inside shortly later.

An argument followed between Thomas and Eskin, and Thomas was shot multiple times, officials said.

Eskin them left the area, LPD reports say. In the course of the investigation, police later identified and arrested him.

As of June 21, there have now been nine homicide victims in Lansing this year.
