(KRON) — Another Raising Cane’s location will open in the East Bay this summer. The fast food restaurant announced Friday that it is bringing its famous chicken tenders to Hayward in August.

Currently, Raising Cane’s has just one location in the Bay Area, which opened up in Oakland in 2022. There is another location in Vacaville.

The Hayward restaurant will stand at 691 Harder Road, in the Hayward Retail Center. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Wednesday through Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.

Beloved Santa Clara restaurant closes after over 50 years in business

It will feature art pieces on its walls that showcase Hayward’s history. Hayward natives such as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, WNBA guard Chelsea Gray and legendary 49ers coach Bill Walsh will be featured, as well as Shasta Beverages and Hunt Brothers Packing Company.

Diners will be able to eat on an outdoor patio or take their food home after going through a drive-thru.

While it does not have an official opening date, Raising Cane’s said it will begin serving customers in early August. Twenty customers will be offered free food for a year.

Other Bay Area locations will open in Colma and Fairfield before the conclusion of 2024, a restaurant spokesperson said. Cane’s is looking to hire and is offering starting pay of $20 per hour.

Cane’s’ first experience in the Bay Area has been rocky. Shortly after opening in Oakland, the restaurant was forced to shut off its indoor dining area due to repeated car break-ins in its parking lot.
