Rep. Jackson booked Monday into Kemper County Jail

Mar. 25—State Rep. Keith Jackson was booked into Kemper County Jail Monday morning on a charge of receiving stolen property.

Jail records indicate Jackson was booked in shortly before 9 a.m. and released around 11 a.m. He is charged with a felony as the value of the property he allegedly received is greater than $1,000.

Jackson, who represents District 45, which includes parts of Kemper, Lauderdale, Winston and Neshoba counties, is in his first term having been elected by voters in the 2023 elections. He took the place of Michael Evans, who now serves as Meridian fire chief.
