The Repair Shop gets new BBC spin-off show

The Repair Shop is set to get a new BBC spin-off, which will take the series across the country.
The hit series, which sees craftspeople restore beloved heirlooms, has run since 2017 on BBC Two and BBC One.
Digital Spy now understands that a new show called The Repair Shop on the Road is in the works, which will see the team hit the road to mend people's treasures.

The main show returned for its 13th season back in April, with the team welcoming new member Rebecca Bissonnet, a textiles conservator.
Meanwhile, last month it was reported that host Jay Blades will be taking a break from The Repair Shop, with filming commencing on the next season of the main show without him.
Back in March, the star teased a new TV project with an image from a filming location, writing on Instagram: "Good morning all. I’ve been busy filming a new show and I can’t wait for you guys to see it."

The month before, it was confirmed that Blades would be continuing his Through Time series, this time focusing on London's West End after previously covering the East End and the Midlands.
"From the East End of London to the West Midlands and now the West End of London, I love these series uncovering eye opening, surprising, and extraordinary facts about where we live," he said of the show.
"London is fascinating and there is so much history to delve into across the West End, with spectacular stories that many people won’t have heard before. Like me, I think viewers will be a bit blown away by some of the revelations that are in store."
The Repair Shop airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
