The Repair Shop star Jay Blades has teased a new TV project he's begun filming.

The presenter and furniture restorer, who has fronted the popular BBC series since 2017, has given hints about a new mystery TV role.

Blades posted on Instagram with an image of his filming location captioned: "Good morning all. I’ve been busy filming a new show and I can’t wait for you guys to see it."

The photo displays a beautiful view from a country house, which eagle-eyed fans in the comments section identified as Weston Park in Shropshire.

There was a lot of excitement about Blades’ new show in the comments, with one fan writing, "Looking forward to watching it and love the view", and another joking, "Wow, love what you’ve done with your garden!"

This project isn’t the only new TV role for Blades, as it was announced last month that he is set to continue is Through Time series on Channel 5 by exploring London’s West End.

After previous series focusing on the East End and the Midlands, West End Through Time will see Blades speak to historians and experts about the history of the area.

On the announcement of the two-part series, Blades said: "I love these series uncovering eye opening, surprising and extraordinary facts about where we live.

"London is fascinating and there is so much history to delve into across the West End, with spectacular stories that many people won’t have heard before. Like me, I think viewers will be a bit blown away by some of the revelations that are in store."

This week, Blades appeared as a guest on Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett’s food-based podcast Dish where he spoke about the King’s appearance on The Repair Shop in honour of the BBC's centenary.

In the episode, he also opened up about his mental health breakdown back in 2015, following his divorce from his first wife – which almost led to him being sectioned.

The Repair Shop airs on BBC One. West End Through Time will air on Channel 5.
