Road closures for the 2024 Rochester jazz festival
The Rochester International Jazz Festival starts this weekend. Residents and visitors should expect street closures for performances and vendors.
There will be varying street blockages throughout the Jazz Fest, and closures will depend on the dates. Here’s what you can expect over the next few weeks:
Gibbs Street, between East Avenue and Main Street, near the Eastman Theatre, will be closed from 7 a.m. to midnight from Tuesday, June 11, to Tuesday, July 2.

Rochester Jazz Fest street closures: June 21 - June 29
Gibbs and Grove Street, between University Avenue and East Main Street, will be closed from 4 p.m. to midnight. Along East Avenue, between Scio and North Chestnut Street, near the Rochester Contemporary Arts Center, will be closed from 4 p.m. to midnight.
Main Street, from Chestnut to Scio Street, will be closed from 4 p.m. to midnight.
Rochester Jazz Fest street closures: June 22
From East Main to Street East Avenue, Chesnut Street, near the M. Dolores Denman Courthouse, will be closed from 6 a.m. to midnight. Between East Avenue and East Broad Street, Chestnut Street will be closed from 4 p.m. to midnight.
Rochester Jazz Fest street closures: June 26 - June 29
Chestnut Street will be closed from 4 p.m. to midnight from East Main to Broad Street. Near parcel 5, Elm Street will be closed from 10 a.m. to midnight, Cortland Street from 2 p.m. to midnight, and Atlas Street from 2 p.m. to midnight.
